Intellectual Property Policy

As a general rule, most of the hymns that I will publish and comment on are in the Public Domain because of their age. In cases where the hymn is of more recent vintage, I will endeavor to find out who, if anyone, holds the copyright and obtain permission from the copyright holder to use the entirety of the hymn in my post for commentary purposes. If I have noted a particular hymn as being in the Public Domain and you believe that someone does hold a copyright on that hymn, please contact me so that I can correct that oversight.

Even without permission, my posts are commentary on the text of hymns, and so probably constitute fair use. However, I will probably link to another site that does have permission to publish the text if I am unable to obtain permission.

The original material in my posts is my own intellectual property. You are welcome to share the link to this blog freely and publicly, but please do not copy the material from this blog for other websites, blogs, or any other uses.
